U.S. Department of Transportation Celebrates Young Artists Promoting Road

Washington, D.C. – In a vibrant showcase of creative talent, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), a division of the U.S. Department of Transportation, revealed the accomplished winners of the 2023 Road Safety Student Art Contest. This annual event, aimed at emphasizing the importance of safety for all users of roadways, attracted over 200 entries from students across the nation.*FMCSA Administrator Robin Hutcheson commended the winners, stating, “The colorful vision and imagination we saw in this year’s art pieces were remarkable. To translate an idea into a meaningful design is challenging, and we’re thrilled to display the final products.”The Road Safety Art Contest invites students from kindergarten to high school to employ their artistic abilities to raise awareness about staying safe on the road, especially when interacting with large trucks and buses. Through this initiative, young artists play a crucial role in reminding all road users of the shared responsibility to keep America’s roadways safe.
