TRUCK VS TRUCK SHUTS DOWN i-5

On July 5, at about 6:26pm Oregon state police and other emergency personnel responded to a commercial vehicle crash on south interstate 5.

The accident occurred when traffic slowed to about 35 miles per hour. Kirpal Singh, 50 from Ontario, Canada, who was driving a Freightliner loaded with wood, slowed with traffic.

At about this time Theresa Thompson, 58 from Albany, allegedly did not see the traffic slowing in front. Theresa rear ended Kirpal Freightliner.

Both tucks were loaded with plywood, witch spilled onto the interstate, according to the Oregon state police.

Thompson had to be extricated from the truck. The driver was then transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Mr. singh was not injured.

I-5 was shut down for approximately 10 hours for the investigation and clean up.
