Tragic Collision on Hwy-58 in Klamath County Claims One Life

In a devastating incident on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 7:50 p.m., Oregon State Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Hwy-58, near milepost 68, in Klamath County.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a Kenworth commercial motor vehicle and trailer, driven by Malkit Singh (28) from Liberty Lake, Washington, was heading eastbound when the trailer unexpectedly veered into the westbound travel lane. Sadly, this set the stage for a collision with a westbound Toyota Tacoma, driven by Michael Edward Davis (57) from Dallas.

Tragically, the impact of the crash claimed the life of Mr. Davis, who was declared deceased at the scene. Kelly Jo Davis (53), a passenger in the Toyota, sustained minor injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

While Singh, the operator of the Kenworth, suffered only minor injuries, the repercussions of this incident were felt on a larger scale. The highway remained closed for approximately 7 hours as authorities conducted their on-scene investigation.

Oregon State Police received valuable assistance from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) during this challenging time.

Our hearts go out to the Davis family and all those affected by this tragic event. Stay tuned for further updates as authorities continue their investigation into this heartbreaking collision.
