  1. MORE THAN 100 NEW OFFICERS SWORN TO SERVE CALIFORNIA
    More than 100 new officers were sworn in during a graduation ceremony
    at the CHP Academy on March 8. The ceremony marked the completion
    of 26 weeks of training and the beginning of a new career serving the
    people of California. Preceding the badge presentation, the
    Commissioners conducted a customary inspection of each cadet to
    ensure their readiness for the responsibilities as officers. If you would

  2. CHP CADETS COMPLETE THE CADET RUN DAYS BEFORE
    GRADUATION

    In the days leading up to graduation, the 105 members of Cadet Training
    Class V-23 took part in their final physical task before becoming a CHP
    officer. Their 5-mile run began at the CHP Academy in West
    Sacramento and concluded at the California Peace Officers Memorial
    near the California State Capitol. The cadets received encouragement
    from family and friends throughout the route.
  3. CHP ARRESTS TWO MEN ON ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES
    CHP officers helped arrest two suspected Oakland gang members and
    seized several firearms in connection with a freeway shooting on
    Interstate 580. Members of the CHP’s Golden Gate Division Warrant
    Service Team, along with officers from the Oakland Police Department,
    served arrest and search warrants on March 6 at three Bay Area
    residences in support of an investigation dating to Nov. 14, 2023. Both
    suspects were booked into Santa Rita Jail on charges of attempted
    murder, discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle, and assault with a
    firearm.
  4. CHP ASSISTS WITH A SPECIAL DELIVERY
    A newborn made a grand entrance into the world on Interstate 80 with
    assistance from a CHP officer. CHP Officer Katharine Price helped
    guide a pregnant mother through labor March 2 while on the side of a
    major freeway in Sacramento. The swift response from Officer Price and
    the application of her Academy training demonstrates the commendable
    efforts to provide safety, service, and security by the CHP. Both mother
    and baby are doing well!
  5. EPISODE 8 OF CHP CADET SERIES NOW STREAMING
    In the latest episode of the CHP’s online series, Cadets, the members of
    Cadet Training Class I-22 are approaching their final weeks of training at
    the CHP Academy. The cadets discuss their goals in becoming a CHP
    officer while learning where they will be assigned following graduation.
    With classroom exams, range, and Emergency Vehicle Operations
    Course (EVOC) still to be graded, one misstep could send them home.
    The final episode of the nine-part docuseries debuts on the CHP’s
    YouTube Channel at 4 p.m. March 13.
